Head of Digital Operations

CAV UHB are seeking to appoint a Head of Digital Operations to its Digital Health and Intelligence Directorate.

This is a key position within the team and will play a major part in the delivery of our digital transformation at an exciting time when the organisation is launching its Digital Strategy and implementing ambitious major digital programmes including:

  • Wide scale infrastructure upgrade and refresh
  • MS O365 full implementation
  • WiFi developments
  • Mobilisation
  • Cloud utilisation

This post will play key role in shaping CAV Digital Services in the post COVID era.

CAV has an infrastructure digital footprint including:

  • Over 13,000 access devices
  • One of the biggest networks in Wales
  • Over 350 servers in 4 data centres
  • Over 100 applications

The successful candidate will provide the technical and managerial leadership for the following areas within Digital Operations:

  • IT Service Desk and service delivery
  • IT support
  • Server team
  • Network team
  • Telecoms team
  • Cyber security
  • Supplier commercial management

Applicants should have extensive technical and IT service delivery experience in the above areas. This technical experience will help the successful candidate to lead operational services and teams through service transformation, providing the best digital solutions to the organisation.

We are looking for someone whose interest in technology means they keep abreast of emerging technologies and can visualise their use in the modern NHS.

In the delivery of our digital services, we contract services from a range of commercial suppliers. The successful candidate will have experience in negotiating and managing relationships with commercial partners.

This high profile role will report to the Assistant Director of IT (Deputy Director).
