Are you ready for a change? A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

This post will be based within our Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP) in purpose built facilities in  the University Hospital Llandough.  This is a band 7 post which, along with a well established team of  occupational therapists and support staff, will lead and develop this service working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.  The post holder will hold a clinical caseload and share service lead responsibilities alongside another Occupational Therapy Service Lead. The service covers the community, day and in-patient settings with individuals as well as their families and carers.

This is a unique post where there is opportunity to shape the role and the team.  The role has the potential to draw upon the full range of occupational therapy skills and would suit candidates from a variety of clinical backgrounds. A knowledge of the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) and the Allen’s Cognitive Disability Model  would be beneficial.  The occupational therapy service within Cardiff and Vale has a strong culture of professional leadership; it is committed to the development of its workforce and will actively support the post holder to develop into the full scope of the role.  This post is based within mental health services and will benefit from joining an experienced group of staff with a strong professional network across mental health services. The service actively supports supervision and staff wellbeing.

We are looking for someone who shares our values that:

      • We care about the people we serve and the people we work with
      • We trust one another
      • We respect each other
      • We take personal responsibility
      • We treat people with kindness
      • We act with integrity

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

We actively welcome informal enquiries and encourage you to visit our team.
