Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (the UHB) is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

We are seeking to recruit a Public Health Practitioner to join the Public Health Team based with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

You will be a skilled and enthusiastic individual with relevant experience. You will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of a range of public health and health promotion programmes across the diverse communities of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.  Your work will include the development of a Smoking and Young People’s Action Plan and the delivery of tobacco education to children and young people.  The post will also require you to coordinate activity around smoke-free enforcement on hospital sites.

You will be able to use your excellent communication and team working skills to work across the NHS and with a range of partner organisations including schools at both strategic and operational levels.

The current base will be Cardiff and Vale Public Health Team, Woodland House, Maes-y-Coed Road, CF14 4TT.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
