Occupational Therapy Equipment Technician – Band 5

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced tradesperson to join our team of technicians installing equipment and minor adaptations into people’s homes. We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and who shares our values that:

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a time served tradesperson ( e.g. carpenter/ builder ) with the corresponding technical qualifications and work experience
  • is available to work 3 to 4 days a week 
  • has effective communication skills, good organisational skills and a positive attitude.
  • has competent IT skills
  • has demonstrable organisational skills, effective time management ensuring that deadlines are achieved
  • has the ability to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the service user and the Occupational Therapy service
  • has the ability to move and handle equipment and tools.
  • has the  ability to complete accurate, appropriate and timely documentation
  • works at all times in compliance with all Health and Safety requirements
  • has a full valid driving licence as this is essential for the role and candidates must be willing to drive departmental vehicles.

In this role you will:

  • Visit people in their own homes to install minor adaptations (e.g. stair rails , grab rails)
  • Deliver and fit community equipment to enable people to carry out their meaningful and essential daily activities
  • Carryout visits to people’s homes with the referring Occupational Therapist
  • Support the management of stock
  • Support the development of skills and knowledge of both Occupational Therapy staff and visiting students
  • Keep comprehensive records and statistics

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
