An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a  member of the Senior Nursing team in the Medicine Clinical Board. The Medicine Clinical Board has a broad range of clinical specialties which gives the post holder opportunities to experience different areas of Medical Nursing and leading on service improvements. The post will be within the Integrated Medicine Directorate at the University Hospital of Wales,  with the opportunity to rotate with other Senior Nurses to meet your own development needs and the service needs.

The Integrated Medicine Directorate has 20 wards covering 4 sites with the main bed base being at both the University Hospital Llandough and University Hospital of Wales. Alongside the wards there are a variety of Clinical Nurse Specialist Teams.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to implement new ways of working to support patient flow, maintain and improve high quality care and achievement of local and national objectives. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to bring professional leadership and nurse management to Supervisory Sisters/Charge Nurses and CNS’s across the specialty.

The Senior Nurse will ensure that all services are delivered in line with agreed governance performance, and financial objectives whilst ensuring the nursing workforce is professionally led and managed in order to develop a highly motivated and empowered team. Suitable candidates will have strong operational management experience and a commitment to providing high quality care for patients in the acute environment.
