Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB)  Nutrition and Dietetic Service has an exciting opportunity with a newly funded post for a Band 6 Dietitian to work as part of the chronic condition team with a specific remit for maternal obesity.  The postholder will be responsible for the day to day management of a specialist caseload for Weight Management and type 2 diabetes, targeted at pregnant women in Cardiff and Vale. Service delivery includes group education  as well as specialist clinics, working closely with antenatal services and attending relevent antenatal clinics. This will include virtual education delivery. The postholder will be required to provide support across Cardiff and Vale. The post sits within an integrated chronic condition team and you have close links with the specialist weight management multidisciplinary team, midwifery and public health services. Experience or training in Motivational interviewing and weight management is an advantage but training can be provided

You will work within a friendly and highly skilled department and have numerous opportunities for professional and personal development. You will be actively involved in the research, audit and the Quality and Safety agenda of the department and UHB. The service is a major provider of pre-registration dietetic education and the successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of training and education.
