Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Flying Start Nutrition & Dietetics Team are looking for an experienced Public Health Dietitian to lead their health improvement programmes. The post holder will provide leadership and day-to-day management for a team of Flying Start Dietitians and Support Workers.

The Public Health Dietetics Team work with partners to build the capacity of communities, working through our Nutrition Skills for Life  programme to support healthy lifestyles and to promote good nutrition. You will have a lead role in supporting vulnerable groups with a focus on areas of deprivation.

You will need to have experience of working in public health dietetics and experience of teaching and delivering Agored Cymru Food and Nutrition Skills courses or equivalent. Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a forward thinking approach to service development and evaluation and the ability to support others.

The Public Health Dietetic Team sits within Community Dietetic Services as part of the UHB wide Nutrition and Dietetic Service. The service has excellent links with the Local Public Health Team, local authority and third sector organisations. The UHB is a trainer of student dietitians and you will be required to input into this training programme.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Welsh language skills are desirable
