Clinical Fellow Higher POST IN ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY in CARDIOLOGY

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (STrH) in Cardiology working at the University Hospital of Wales.

Cardiff and Vale ULHB is the third largest Trust in the United Kingdom and is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.  The University Hospital of Wales is a modern 968-bedded hospital based on the outskirts of the busy capital city of Cardiff, a lively city with a cosmopolitan lifestyle and a rich diversity of leisure and cultural activities.  Within easy reach of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the beautiful coastlines of South Wales and West Wales, and air links with the rest of the United Kingdom.

The University Hospital of Wales is the regional tertiary arrhythmia centre for South East Wales, servicing a population of 1.4 million. The ablation service performs approx 250 ablations (including ~ 70 AF ablations and ~ 15 VT ablations) and 150 diagnostic EP studies per year.  The Rhythmia & Carto 3 Mapping systems and the Medtronic cryoablation system are in regular use at UHW. The Device Service at UHW performs approximately 900 device operations per year, including 120 convertional ICD and 100 CRT-D implants annually. 

Training opportunities will be available and tailored to individual applicants needs and level of experience.
